“Ichiraku” is a former Asama Onsen Takanoyu Ryokan (1887-1998) building in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture of Japan, that has been relocated.
A library was created inside the Ichiraku building.

Ichiraku building was originally located in Asama Onsen, Matsumoto, Nagano, where it served as an annex to the main Takanoyu Ryokan building. It was relocated and rebuilt at a new location after Takanoyu Ryokan went out of business.

Takanoyu Ryokan was founded in 1887. It continued its operations for four generations of Suzuki family, started by Kaichiro Suzuki, and closed down in 1998.  This Ichiraku building was built by Takeo Suzuki, who passed away in 1996 at the age of 48. Using the income received from life insurance and Takanoyu hot spring water drawing rights, Ichiraku was rebuilt and started a new life, with a library being created in the building.

I hope that many people will take advantage of it.
